- Catch Story: I frequently fish the Minnesota River. That day I arrived at Minnecon Park in New Ulm and was fishing on the bottom with a 3/8 ounce green Northland Tacke jig with 3 lively worms when I happened to get a bite. I picked up my rod set the hook and thought it was a big carp till it surfaced I then realized it was a Lake Sturgeon I fought the fish for about 10 to 15 min then landed the fish got a quick weight and measurement and then released the fish into the river.
