- Catch Story: Took a buddy out catfishing for his first time, and we spent the beginning of our evening searching for bait (ideally some drum or redhorse). To my surprise I caught my first ever mooneye, and it happened to be a jumbo. I ended up catching a couple more there, and we kept a smaller one for bait. Later that night my buddy caught his first ever catfish on that small mooneye as cutbait - a 49.5" giant flathead. Another great trip on the Croix.
