- Catch Story: Lake Virginia is across the street from our house. We took our little fishing boat out around 5 pm. I was fishing in about 5-6 ft of water. I used fathead minnows on a hook. Nothing fancy. I originally thought I had a pike because this fish kept diving deep and we knew it was big. My husband netted it as I brought it to the surface and we realized I had caught a gigantic walleye! It was very exciting!! Weighed it on our digital fish scale and it came in at a whopping 7.31 lbs . Yowza!
