- Catch Story: Caught the fish around 8pm on the Cannon River in Northfield, MN. I was fishing right off the dam in town. This fish was the sucsessor to 2 other big walleyes I had caught 3 weeks prior. The other 2 walleye were aprox. the same length. I was unable to land the previous fish due to the location I was fishing, off of a 20ft. ledge over the top of a dam. The night I caught this fish, however, I was prepared. I rigged the pfluger with 80lb braid and a Northland tackle mimic minnow in the firetiger pattern, and when she hit, I was able to pull her up the 20ft concrete ledge without snapping the line. I took several photos of this walleye and did Catch and Release so to be caught another day. First walleye of this caliber ive seen come out of this river in over 15 years. Tons of fun,
